Purpose- and Scope
This manual provides practical information for military personnel in the design, layout, installation, and maintenance of electrical wiring systems, as installed irk the theater of operations. Design of interior wiring systems, construction methods, and tools and material used by military electrical construction personnel are discussed detail. The type of instruction is shown in TM 5-302 which, together with TM 6-301 and TM 5-303, presents the Engineer Functional Components System. The present system is based on the open wiring techniques described in chapter 4. Future revision of the Functional Components System will change the wiring systems to more modern methods of cable and conduit wiring as discussed in chapters 6 and 6 respectively. In addition, this manual includes information relating to methods of repairing, remodeling, and extending domestic and foreign wiring systems ; troubleshooting; and necessary safety precautions in electrical installations.
