scope:
The equipment covered by this specification shall be mounted in a military aircraft to receive ground track data in the form of synchro voltages from a ground position computer, and to present a continuous and/or permanent record of the aircraft's track on a chart or plotting sheet. In addition, the equipment shall receive heading data, and present this information on a heading indicator on the control panel of the plotting board.
The Plotting Board Tactical Display PT-396/AS covered by this specification shall be of one type and shall consist of a single unit weighing not more than 20 pounds.
