This specification covers power hoisting, gravity lowering, boat davits and winches for Naval shipboard use.
The boat davit and winch shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.1):
Davit Type I - Single bank boat davit. Type II - Nested boat davit. Type III - Triple bank boat davit. Type IV - Quadruple bank boat davit. Winch Type A - Single-divided drum winch. Type B - Double drum winch.
