PURPOSE
These data are to be used to determine if excessive vibratory responses exist within the system under consideration. A mathematical analysis is performed to establish probable compliance with the prescribed acceptance criteria. The system is tested to confirm that the vibratory responses are within the acceptable criteria.
APPLICATION/INTERREL
This Data Item Description contains the format and content preparation instructions for vibration testing and analysis of reciprocating machinery, propulsion system and shafting to be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-167-2A.
