scope:
This specification covers bimetallic, shock-resistant, direct-reading temperature indicators of the 3 and 5 inch dial sizes.
Temperature indicators shall be of a design having the following variables (see 6.3):
Indicator design shall be one of the following:
Symbol Instrument design ITD Indicator, temperature, direct reading ITM Indicator, temperature, max-and-min
Indicator dial size shall be one of the following:
Symbol Dial diameter (inches) 3 3 inches 5 5 inches
Indicator temperature ranges shall be one of the following:
Symbol Ranges °F. 18 −40 to 180 24 20 to 240 55 50 to 550 75 50 to 750 12 200 to 1200
Indicator case form shall be one of the following:
Symbol Forms (see figure 1) A Back connected O Bottom connected
Stem lengths shall be as follows:
Symbol Stem length (see figure 2) 2 2 inches 4 4 inches 6 6 inches
