scope:

PURPOSE

This publication specifies the project oriented requirements to manage the quality of the software development process.  Both managerial and technical processes must be addressed in order to:

establish visibility of the software development process;

detect software quality problems as searly as possible in the software life cycle;

provide quality control data for the timely implementation of effective coorective action;

confim that quality is engineered in during the software development process;

provide assurance that the software produced confirms to contractual requirements;

ensure that appripriate software support is provided to activities at system engineering level, if required by the contract; and

ensure that the safety and security conditions of the project are addressed.
