MODUK - SPECIAL BTN 06.82

Special Bulletin (2)

active, Most Current
Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 15 June 1982
Status: active
Page Count: 2
scope:

INTRODUCTION

with effect from 1 April 1982 the British Standards Institution (BSI) have extended their independent quality assessment scheme and it now covers manufacturing areas relevant to defence sub-contracting. This has led MOD to examine the requirement of DEF STAN 05-31 for "products of assured quality" to originate solely from MOD (PE) assessed sources. MOD have decided to introduce an interpretation of DEF STAN 05-31 by which BSI registered firms can be used as suppliers of "products of assured quality" against a Technical Schedule endorsed by MOD. This special bulletin interprets DEF STAN 05-31 in the light of the BSI scheme and gives details of how endorsement of particular Technical Schedules will be promulgated.
