Effective control of ultrasonic inspection requires the implementation of acceptable procedures under the supervision of qualified and experienced personnel. The Defence Standard deals with the requirements for establishing the competence of the Industrial Ultrasonic Testing Technologist, preparation and provision of the Ultrasonic Testing (UT) techniques, reporting and sentencing procedures together with equipment performance and calibration requirements.
