This specification provides standardised security mechanisms in conjunction with the SIM Application Toolkit for the interface between a GSM PLMN Entity and a SIM.
The security mechanisms which are specified are independent of applications.
This specification describes the functional requirements of the security mechanisms with the implementation detail of these mechanisms being described in the stage 2 specification (GSM 03.48).
This specification is the result of a feasibility study carried out on this topic, contained in GSM 11.15.
