scope:

This specification covers electrodes, "S" and pigtail type cable for magnetic minesweeping.

Magnetic minesweeping cables shall be classified as follows:

Type Electrode - Noninsulated, single conductor, buoyant.

Type "S" - Insulated, single conductor, buoyant.

Type Pigtail - Insulated, single conductor, nonbuoyant.

Magnetic minesweeping cables shall be furnished in the standard lengths shown in table I as specified (see 6.1). Table I - Standard lengths

The magnetic minesweeping cable assembly shall consist of two 150-foot electrodes, one 450-foot "S" type cable, one pigtail type cable, and two insulating sleeves.
