PURPOSE. This notice informs Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aviation safety inspectors (ASI), aviation safety technicians (AST), designated pilot examiners (DPE), aircrew program designees (APD), training center evaluators (TCE), pilots, and training provider management personnel how to complete the applications for the second-in-command (SIC) pilot type ratings and issue FAA Form 8060-4, Temporary Airman Certificate.
