scope:

This Standard applies to insulating tubing that consists entirely of extruded compounds (see Table 1 for materials, sizes, and ratings) and also applies to heat-shrinkable tubing (with or without a meltable liner) intended for use in equipment designed to be used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, at a voltage not exceeding 1000 V.

The tubing is intended for use in damp or dry locations to insulate bare live parts or to supplement existing insulation in electrical equipment.

These requirements do not apply to fabric tubing, polymeric tubing extruded with reinforcement, or tubing intended only for mechanical protection.

These requirements do not apply to chemically dilated tubing.
