This document covers a paper honeycomb structure which is used primarily as an impact energy dissipater for airdrop operations.
The paper honeycomb structure shall be one of the following classes and sizes, as specified (see 6.2).
Class 3 - Expanded and double faced honeycomb panel. Size I - 36 inches by 48 inches Size II - 36 inches by 96 inches Size III - 48 inches by 48 inches Size IV - 48 inches by 96 inches
intended Use:
The honeycomb panel is cut into sections and made into stacks which act as the energy dissipater for the landing shock of airdropped materiel.
