This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for a dyed, spirit based, marking ink suitable for application by pencil brush or by means of rubber or gelatine type to the external surfaces of unpainted, painted or varnished ammunition stores or components.
The ink must not be used in situations where it may penetrate to and remain in contact with explosives or propellants, without specific approval from the Head of Energetic Materials and Terminal Effects Department, Defence Research Agency, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent TN 14 7BP. T
