This ETS describes the modulation and channel coding system (denoted the "System" for the purposes of this ETS) for the distribution of digital multi-programme Television (TV)/High Definition Television (HDTV) by Multipoint Video Distribution Systems (MVDS) in the 40 GHz band. The System described in this ETS is based on that described in ETS 300 421 for 11/12 GHz satellite services. It allows the same consumer Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) to be used for either service, when used with a Low Noise Block (LNB) down-converter for the appropriate frequency band.
