This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

The requirements for acquiring the product described herein shall consist of this specification sheet and the issue of MIL-DTL-11484 listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicitation.

MATERIAL: Gilding Medal DIMENSIONS: HEIGHT (Overall): ⅝ inch (1.59 cm) (REF) WIDTH (Overall): ⅝ inch (1.59 cm) (REF) THICKNESS: 0.055 inch ± 0.010 inch (0.140 cm ± 0.025 cm) FINISH: Hard Enameled, Gold Plated, Mirror-like Polished and shall match TIOH Metal Finish Chip Number 6.

NOTES:

1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished hub or die.

2. Enameled colors shall be as indicated. The colors shall conform to the TIOH chip numbers listed below or the standard sample:

COLOR CHIP NO. Green 10 Blue 30 Cerulean T&T 866

3. Epoxy resin (stoning epoxy) may be used in lieu of hard enamel at the option of the manufacturer.

4. Pierced areas shall be as indicated.

5. Attaching device shall be prong with pick and wing type clutch. The prong shall be located on the vertical center line ⅛ inch (0.32 cm) below the top edge of the lapel button. The prong shall be fused or hard soldered to the reverse of the lapel button.

CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS ISSUE: Marginal notations are not used in this revision to identify changes with respect to the previous issue due to the extent of the changes.
