These guidelines specifies which information is to be printed on title leaves and other prominent places in books and how it should be presented. The aim is to have editors and publishers to create title leaves as clear aa possible. This will ease the use, description, and retrieval of books by the users: booksellers, librarians, researchers, and general readers. The guidelines are applicable to commercial and non-commercial publications in one ore more volumes. The guidelines are based on ISO 1086:1991.
