This specification covers the requirements for packaging (preservation, packing, and marking) of mechanical support items (see 6.4.2.12), spare and repair parts, accessories, and kits for systems and equipments such as, but not necessarily limited to: internal combustion engines (diesel, gas); turbines (gas, steam); machinery (winches, capstans, metal and wood working); pumps; compressors; and related mechanical or nonelectrical type equipment requiring maintenance and overhaul replacement items or assemblies.
