This Part of the Standard describes the construction, identification and testing of single core fibre optic cables. They are suitable for use as general airframe and equipment interconnection cables for installation on aircraft.
These cables shall be suitable for continuous use within a temperature range of - 60°C to + 150°C.
The cables shall be suitable for use in flexing and fixed applications and shall have an installed minimum bend radius of not less than 30 millimetres.
Reference should be made to Def Stan 60-1 (Part O) for fibre geometry and the test methods preferred by the Ministry of Defence.
