scope:

This instruction applies to all activities within NAVSUP and governs the sharing of data both within NAVSUP and with government elements of the global, integrated supply system. It does not encompass the release of information to contractors, the general public, other nongovernment entities or audit organizations, subjects addressed by other directives such as reference (a) through (d). The policy delineated herein will govern current operations, business process reengineering efforts, and initiatives to develop, modify or replace automated information systems.

Purpose. To prescribe general policy governing the sharing of data by and within NAVSUP.
