scope:
This specification covers internal-focusing, inverted or erect image, self-leveling, and tilting type leveling instruments, with tripods and accessories.
The levels shall be of the following types, styles, and categories, as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Tilting level.
Style A - With micrometer eyepiece and plane-parallel attachment.
Style B - Without optional micrometers and plane-parallel attachment.
Type II - Self-leveling level.
Style A - Without horizontal circle.
Style B - With horizontal circle for stadia and simple surveys.
Category 1 - 1st order accuracy.
Category 2 - 2d order accuracy.
intended Use:
Type I and Type IX levels are intended for 1st and 2nd order leveling. Levels will be used according to the accuracy category.
