This specification covers the requirements for a portable, line-operated, air particle sampler, hereinafter referred to as the sampler, for the collection of controlled samples of particulate material from the air. The sample, so collected, will be used in conjunction with procedures and equipment not under the scope of specification to determine the extent to which the sampled air was contaminated by radioactive particles.
intended Use:
The sampler, covered by this specification, is intended for use on board ships and in shore facilities when continuous monitoring of airborne particulate radioactivity is required.
