This specification covers the Antenna Coupler CU-937( )/UR, a remotely tuned antenna coupler intended for general purpose communications and which may be used for surface ship and fixed shore installations. The equipment operates in the 2.0 to 30.0 megahertz (MHz) frequency range and provides the means to match conventional 4.572, 7.650, or 10.698 meters (m) (15, 25, or 35 foot) whip antennas to the 100 watt peak envelope power (PEP) output of Radio Set AN/URC-35( ) or Radio Transmitter AN/URT-24( ), at the selected operating frequency.
Each unit shall give reliable performance within the limits specified herein, under conditions of intermittent or continuous operation during exposure to the adverse conditions normally encountered in Naval ship and shore communications service. Mechanical and electrical ruggedness is of paramount importance for assurance of reliable performance without failure.
