scope:
This specification covers the requirements for positive working, direct image ammonia developed diazotype films intended for use in microreproduction systems. Where applicable, films include those in rolls, sheets and mounted in EAM copy cards.
Diazotype filsm covered by this specification shall be classified using the designators specified in table I, and meeting the requirements put forth in table II. The film product's nominal value of the appropriate characteristic will fall within one of the designator groups. The film product supplied by the manufacturer shall not vary more than a fixed percentage of the manufacturer's nominal stated value, as shown on table I. While this designator system includes every conceivable combination of sensitized product, many of these products are not feasible in the diazo process at this time.

The films covered by this specification are intended for use in microfilm equipment for the reproduction of negative or positive photographic images.
