Field of application
This standard makes specifications for the following types of hook for use on lifting appliances: forged point hooks as in DIN 15401 Part 1 or 2, forged ramshorn hooks as in DIN 15402 Part 1 or 2, and laminated hooks as in DIN 15407 Part 1 or 2. It may be applied by analogy to the components of lifting appliances that are subject to similar stresses, but does not cover cast hooks (cf. Explanatory notes).
