The internationally agreed EN ISO 14000 series has similar objectives as the European Union's eco-management and audit scheme but varies in detail. This CEN Report tries to point out areas where organizations can use the standards as a means to achieve registration under EMAS. It is not in itself a free-standing and certifiable or regiatrable document. CEN Report 12968 provides a clause by clause comparison of the Regulations and the standards.
