Preface

This is the first edition of CSA Special Publication B44EP, What3 New in B44-00. It is intended to assist users in implementing CSA Standard B44-00, Safety Code for Elevators, by providing a concise guide to the new features of CSA Standard B44-00, compared to CSA Standard B44-94 and ASME Standard Al 7.1 -00, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators. This document addresses three kinds of changes to requirements for all equipment covered by B44-00: new requirements, altered requirements, and deleted requirements, as compared to B44-94 and Al 7.1 -00. This Special Publication does not add to the requirements of B44-00, nor does it address all editorial changes.
