This specification covers the general requirements for the design, manufacture, and test of solid state power controllers (6.1) of both DC and AC ratings for use in aircraft electric power systems.
Power controllers shall be classified as specified herein:
The enclosure design is identified by a single digit as follows:
Type Enclosure 1 Open 2 Enclosed 3 Sealed (other than hermetically) 4 Hermetically sealed
The military part number shall consist of the letter "M", the basic number of the specification sheet, and an assigned dash number (3.1) as shown in the following:
