(R) Electrolytic Treatment for Magnesium Alloys Alkaline Type, Full Coat
|Publication Date:||1 October 1994|
The specification establishes the engineering requirement for anodic coatings, on magnesium and magnesium alloys, deposited from ankaline
This coating has been used typically to increase corrosion resistance, to provide surfaces which will ensure adhesion of organic coatings, and to impart abrasion resistance, but usage is not limited to such applications. The process is applicable to all cast and wrought magnesium alloys, after proper allowances are made for dimensional changes intrinsic to the process, but should not be employed on parts which are subject to flexure.
1.3 Safety-Hazardous Materials:
While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved.
