This document specifies processing of the Carrier, Cargo, Tracked, 22-Ton, Ammunition for shipment and storage. This document is cited in a contract or order to obtain protection from known or anticipated conditions of shipment, handling and storage.

Maximum protection, called level A, is processing for the most severe conditions and for shipment, handling and storage. Maximum protection, called level A, should be applied to protect vehicles where the period of shipment, handling and storage will exceed 90 days from the date of processing. Level A protection should be applied for long-term open storage and for deck loaded marine shipment. Level A protection should be applied to vehicles shipped to Support Agreement (SA) customers except when a lower level of protection is designated in accordance with AR 746-1.

Intermediate protection, called level B, is processing for known favorable conditions of shipment, handling and storage. Intermediate protection, called level B, should be applied when level A protection is not required and when the period of shipment, handling and storage will not exceed 90 days from the date of processing. Level B protection should be applied for domestic shipment and known favorable overseas shipment excluding marine deck loading. Level B protection shall be applied for domestic shipment to CONUS storage activities and for short term open storage or long term covered storage in accordance with AR 700-15.
