The standards set forth herein apply to the ninth edition of the Standard for Gas-Fired Duct Furnaces, ANSI Z83.9-1982, and Addenda thereto, Z83.9a-1983, and supersede Corresponding standards therein. Following their preparation by the supervising subcommittee, they were accepted by Accredited Standards Committee Z83 and subsequently approved as American National Sandard by the American National Standards Institute, Inc.
