The standard describes an electrochemical method for determi nation of dissolved oxygen in water by the use of an electro chemical cell separated from the sample by a gaspermeable me mbrane. The method can be used for naturally occuring water including salt water and waste water. By low temperatures th e electrode reacts so slowly that measurements are not relia ble.
