The National Airspace System (NAS) Plan (June 1986) has outlined an approach to modernize the NAS. This document describes the Advanced Automation System (AAS) transition strategy. This transition starts with the current en route and terminal facilities and ends with Area Control Computer Complexes (ACCC) at Area Control Facilities (ACFs) and Tower Control Computer Complexes (TCCC) at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCTs).
