PURPOSE. This Instruction defines the Goddard Flight Center's (GSFC) policy and procedures with respect to reviewing procurements for space flight hardware and software to assure compliance with applicable NASA Policy Directives (see paragraph 3). It also defines the respective responsibilities of procurement initiators, cognizant procurement personnel, Office of Flight Assurance (OFA) representatives, the Health, Safety and Security Office, Code 205, and the Safety and Quality Assurance Engineering Branch (SQAEB), Code 1024.
APPLICABILITY. This Instruction applies to all the GSFC procurements for space flight hardware and software.
