This specification covers the general requirements for AC, DC, and AC-DC, current carrying, feed-through capacitors, hermetically sealed in metal cases (see 6.4), for use primarily in suppression of electromagnetic interference.

Capacitors shall be classified by the dielectric specified (see 3.1).
