INTRODUCTION TO PART 1

The contents of this Publication are based on procedures laid down in STANAG 4425 and are intended to provide a ready reference for artillery Staff. The publication is maintained and updated by Sub-Group 2 of Land Group 4 of AC/225 and is the working document of STANAG 4425.

For layout and content of Part 1, see the Table of Contents on the page (iii). Maximum range categories mentioned in the Table of Contents are shown pictorially in Figure 1. Range category IV has been added for the future 52 calibre howitzers, planned for fielding in the near future. These may be capable of exceeding 40km in range.
