This handbook provides sufficient information for the design, fabrication, and installation procedures for a secure enclosure within an existing building. Where adequate information for the system is provided in other Department of the Navy or commercial publications, such publication locations are referenced throughout this document. The information is not duplicated herein.

THIS HANDBOOK SHALL NOT BE USED AS A REFERENCE DOCUMENT FOR PROCUREMENT OF FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION. IT IS TO BE USED IN THE PURCHASE OF FACILITIES ENGINEERING STUDIES AND DESIGN (FINAL PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND COST ESTIMATES).
