Standard Method for Panel Spalling Testing Refractory Brick
|Publication Date:||30 June 1989|
1.1 This method outlines the basic procedure for determining the resistance of refractory brick to the separate and combined effects of structural and thermal spalling. The test is believed to give a sufficient simulation of service conditions to suggest its use as a suitability test for certain classes of service that have been correlated with the test data.
NOTE l--Supplementary information for this test, consisting of detailed descriptions of the apparatus and helpful suggestions relating to the procedure, is provided in Annex A1.
1.2 Detailed methods to be used in conjunction with this procedure in testing specific types of refractories are Methods C 107, C 122, and C 180.
