The standard specifies a standardized procedure developed from EIC 909 for the calculation of short-circuit currents in three-phase a.c. systems operating at a nominal frequency (50 or 60 Hz) when the short circuit occurs in low-voltage radial systems and when the simplifying conditions given in clause 3 are met.
