This specification relates to a synthetic latex containing a terpolymer of acrylonitrile butadiene and styrene manufactured by emulsion polymerization. It is intended for use as a binder in pulp moulding processes.

The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is of a quality suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement, and the composition of the latex may therefore be restricted.
