Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bewertung der Reife loser, ungeordneter Baumwollfasern durch Messen des Luftstromwiderstands eines Baumwollfaserpfropfens unter zwei vorgeschriebenen Bedingungen fest. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Baumwolle, die als beliebige Stichprobe von Ballen entnommen wurde. Es können Faserwickel und Faserbänder oder Baumwolle sonstiger Herkunft geprüft werden, jedoch können die Ergebnisse zu den von Ballen entnommenen Fasern verschieden sein.
