PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This bulletin develops a model that explains the interaction between mode conversion parameters within a pair (TCL,LCL, TCTL and LCTL), mode conversion parameters between pairs (NEXTdc , NEXTcd, FEXTdc, FEXTcd) and other common mode parameters (NEXTcc, FEXTcc, ILcc, RLcc) on the alien crosstalk between channels. This bulletin also provides an assessment of the performance of category 6A UTP mode conversion parameters for cabling and components. This bulletin includes methods used to evaluate these parameters.

These parameters are relevant to understanding noise coupling mechanisms for balanced twisted-pair cabling (including alien crosstalk and other sources of external noise. It is not the intent of this bulletin to specify performance recommendations for these parameters.
