This standard provides for a qualified American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AS ME) weld procedure for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GT A W) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMA W) of carbon steel pipe up to a maximum of 2-inch wall thickness.

This Standard applies to all National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) John C. Stennis Space Center (SSC) contractor and subcontractor personnel involved in the GT A Wand SMA W welding of carbon steel pipe.
