This standard, in conjunction with DIN EN 1717, specifies requirements regarding the protection of drinking water against pollution in drinking water installations and protection units designed to prevent such pollution by backflow. It supplements the specifications of DIN EN 1717 and specifies additional requirements for the planning and design of drinking water installations, giving due consideration to German national technical rules.
