Organization: JSA
Publication Date: 21 May 2012
Status: active
Page Count: 34
ICS Code (Measurement of volume, mass, density, viscosity): 17.060
scope:

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the methods of measuring density and specific gravity of liquid by using pycnometers, hydrometers, vibratory densimeters, magnetic floating densimeters and the measuring method by weighing in liquid, as well as the method of securing metrological traceability in these measurements.

NOTE: From the viewpoint of a strict definition of the physical quantity, the term "density" should be preferred to "specific gravity". This does not mean, however, that this Standard restricts the use of the latter term in relation to any related laws or regulations.
