This code describes principles and practices of fire safety and security for historic structures and for those who operate, use, or visit them.
Collections within libraries, museums, and places of worship are not within the scope of this code.
Purpose. This code prescribes minimum requirements for the protection of historic structures from fire and security vulnerabilities while preserving the elements, spaces, and features that make these structures historically or architecturally significant.
