This Standard sets out the requirements for ensuring that passive and active fire protection systems, and fixed and portable fire-fighting equipment, within London Underground (LU) stations and all other premises but not trains, are maintained in accordance with good industry practice and the law.

This engineering Standard applies to new and existing installations and supports the following LU Category 1 Standard 1-084 - Maintenance of fire protection systems and compartmentation measures

Purpose

This standard describes the requirements for the management and delivery of maintenance of services by London Underground. This is in order to demonstrate compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire Precautions (Sub-surface Railway Stations) (England) Regulations 2009 where that Statutory Instrument applies.
