Determination of chlorine in hard coal, brown coal, lignite and coke using Eschka mixture. Principle: Sample is ignited in contact with Eschka mixture in oxidizing atmosphere to remove combustible matter and convert chlorine to alkali chlorides. These are extracted with nitric acid or water and determined by titration by either Volhard or Mohr procedure.
