scope:
This specification covers three wrought aluminum alloy armor plate for both welded and non-welded applications in nominal thicknesses from 0.250 to 3.000 inch, inclusive (see 6.2). The weldability of wrought aluminum alloy AA5083 armor has been determined for Class I armor for nine thicknesses as listed in Appendix A. The weldability of wrought aluminum alloy AA5456 armor has been determined for Class II armor for this thickness, only; (To be determined). The weldability of wrought aluminum alloy AA5059 armor has been determined for Class III armor for this thicknesses, only; 1.500".
