scope:
This specification applies to the joining of lining membranes made from polymer materials in earth construction and hydraulic engineering, for the sealing of waste disposal tips and other measures to protect the ground water. These lining membranes made from thermoplastics and elastomers are bonded to one another by welding, adhesives or vulcanising to create sealing systems. The specification is intended to serve as a guide to those manufacturing or using lining membranes, and provide them with reference material concerning connection techniques on the construction site. Part 2 of this specification deals with construction site tests on lining membranes made from polymer materials and Part 3 with requirements for equipment.
